Landscape design · Essex
From compact town gardens to expansive country plots, we design landscapes that feel calm, timeless and beautifully resolved – all tailored to the way you live.
Based in Essex and working throughout the county and the Southeast, Pebble Landscape Design oversee projects from first sketches through to planting, lighting and final detailing on site.
Every Essex garden comes with its own character – coastal light, woodland edges, borrowed countryside views, or tight urban plots. We consider architecture, aspect, levels and soil conditions to create outdoor spaces that feel as carefully composed as your interior.
We specialise in full garden remodelling – rethinking the structure, circulation, terraces, lawns and planting to bring clarity and calm. Our work often includes outdoor kitchens, pergolas and garden rooms, detailed lighting schemes and atmospheric planting that looks good year-round.
Designs are presented through detailed plans, mood imagery and 3D visualisation where helpful, so you can be confident in every decision before work begins on site.
A complete service from first ideas through to technical design, tender and overseeing the build with trusted landscapers and craftspeople.
A holistic design for the entire plot – from front drive and entrance sequence to terraces, lawns, planting and garden structures. Ideal when you're ready to transform the whole garden in one considered scheme.
Carefully proportioned terraces, outdoor cooking and dining areas, firepits and seating that make the most of afternoon and evening light – designed to connect seamlessly with your interior.
Layered, textural planting palettes suited to Essex soils and microclimates, paired with subtle lighting to bring the garden to life after dark and extend its use into the evening.
A clear, collaborative process – from initial consultation to construction on site – so you always know what's happening next.
A site visit in Essex to walk the garden together, understand how you'd like to use the space and discuss budgets, timeframes and any planning considerations.
We work from a topographical survey to produce initial layout options, mood imagery and, where useful, 3D visualisation to help you see the proposed structure and levels.
Once a preferred option is agreed, we refine materials, details and planting palettes, ensuring the scheme feels cohesive from every vantage point inside the house and out in the garden.
Detailed construction drawings, setting-out plans and specifications are prepared so landscapers can price accurately and build with confidence.
We can remain involved during the build, making site visits, reviewing key stages and answering contractor queries so the design intent is fully realised.
Planting is set out and overseen on site, with maintenance guidance and the option for seasonal follow-up visits as the garden establishes.
While many of our projects are in Essex, we regularly work in London, Hertfordshire, Kent and Suffolk – often where clients are extending or renovating and want the garden considered at the same time.
Recent Essex landscape design projects include contemporary family gardens in Chelmsford and Brentwood, a layered coastal scheme near Leigh-on-Sea and a series of calm courtyards for a converted barn near Billericay.
You can see a selection of this work in our portfolio, or get in touch to discuss a forthcoming project.
